Position Overview
Otter Tail Power Company is seeking a Project Manager to lead energy supply generation projects through the full project lifecycle, from development through construction and final handoff to Operations & Maintenance. This role partners with internal stakeholders and external consultants, reviewing and coordinating engineering deliverables while ensuring successful generation project execution. Positions are posted at the Project Manager I and Project Manager II levels, with increasing independence based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects through development, permitting, regulatory filings, budgeting, contracting, construction, and turnover.
- Coordinate and review engineering work performed by external consultants.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and risk throughout the lifecycle.
- Develop and manage contracts and vendor relationships.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, engineering, accounting, legal, and regulatory teams.
- Provide consistent communication and reporting to stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred) or related field.
Experience:
Project Manager I: 2 years of project management or related experience.
Project Manager II: 5 years of project management experience with complex projects.
Skills:
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
Ability to review and interpret engineering designs.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Offering:
- The expected base compensation offer for this role is $84,000 - $127,000 USD annually. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position and level.
