1st shift - 5:45am to 1:45pm M-F ($19.00 to $20.00)
Essential Functions:
This position is responsible for the following tasks, duties, and responsibilities:
- Set up production lines prior to startups, load, and unload trucks, utilize move tickets, put away unused material in bin location, wrap finished goods and bring to staged area.
- Make prompt pickups and deliveries from one production department to another or to and from the warehouse area.
- Understand warehouse layout and maintain organization, maintains “first in, first out” (FIFO) inventory procedure, places stock in designated areas in each department, and backs up shipping as needed.
- Diligently completes and maintains all necessary paperwork without assistance or error by the end of the shift for move tickets, scrap tickets, transfers, inventory, quality control, record keeping, ERP systems, etc.
- Complete training on double stacking pallets in the warehouse.
- Identify and report issues in packing, stacking, incomplete, or unsafe pallets.
- Understand production processes, anticipate possible issues, and multitask to provide support.
- Operate a forklift or other industrial truck safely within tight and congested areas.
- Completes forklift checks periodically for proper maintenance and safety.
- Able to operate with minimal assistance.
- Maintains and encourages good housekeeping practices by ensuring work areas and common areas are swept and clean.
- Identify and report any unsafe work conditions, behaviors, or incidents.
- Follow and adhere to all safety procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by the lead, supervisor, or manager.
Education, Experience, & Skills:

- High School diploma or general education degree (GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Prior forklift certification/experience preferred.
- Basic TMM knowledge (transfers and lookup) preferred.
- Ability to pass a forklift driving certification test and operate a forklift safely is required.
- Mathematical calculations and blueprint reading are required for set-up and control of jobs.
- Job efficiencies and TMM use requires offline calculations for work center utilization and communication to estimation and scheduling.
- Basic computer skills required, including the use of Microsoft Office, PC application, and the ability to work with different applications on different formats.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend basic English is essential for understanding various forms of work directions and safety instructions.
- This position requires the ability to communicate, both verbally and written, in a professional, positive, and constructive manner.
- Must be willing to take direct orders from the leadership team (including leads, supervisors, managers, etc.).
- Must be detail oriented and demonstrate both team-based and independent work skills.
- Strong organization, time management, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Good common sense and critical thinking ability is a must. To succeed in this position the reasoning skills of the individual must be very good to enable the balance of all jobs and to solve the issues that present themselves in production.

- The Material Handler I position requires work to be performed in both office and the manufacturing environments with a balance between hands-on work and office work.
- Work performed in the well-lit manufacturing environment may include regular exposure to flying dust and debris; the smell of burnt plastic; high decibel equipment and loud noises; and extreme temperatures ranging from subzero up to 110 degrees Fahrenheit.
- The manufacturing environment is fast-moving and may require the mobility to bend, stoop, lift, carry, lift above shoulders, push, pull, walk, and stand throughout the duration of the shift.
- May be required to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs occasionally.
- May be required to mount or dismount a forklift or other powered industrial truck multiple times throughout the shift.
- Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment consistently and correctly. This may include wearing safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, other safety equipment as designated, and adhering to the safety dress code.
- Work performed in the controlled and well-lit office work environment has few physical hazards.
- Visual acuity, manual dexterity, and hand function may be required to complete data entry, use technology, and complete other tasks as assigned.
