Job Summary:

Otter Express is seeking a dependable Driver to provide safe and efficient demand response transportation services to the community. This role involves operating transit vehicles, assisting passengers with boarding and exiting, and maintaining clear communication with Dispatch to address service-related needs. The Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring reliable and accessible transit services while upholding the agency’s commitment to safety and professionalism.

Key Functions and Duties Performed by the Driver:

1. Safely operate transit vehicles to provide reliable and efficient door-to-door services to the community.

1. Follow pre-scheduled routes and pickup times, ensuring timely transportation for all passengers.

2. Communicate effectively with Dispatch to report any service-related issues and seek assistance when needed.

3. Maintain accurate records of driver activities, including driver sign-in and sign-out times, passenger counts, and any service disruptions.

Qualifications:

· Must have a valid class D driver’s license, a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience driving, and a clean driving record.

· Possess excellent communication and customer service skills

· Strong decision-making skills.

· Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and MnDOT physical.

Physical Requirements:

The Driver must be able to pass an MnDOT physical. Must be able to sit for long periods of time while driving, as well as stand and walk to assist passengers. Must be able to carry packages for passengers, up to 25 pounds total.

Clear verbal communication is also essential to ensure accurate information exchange with Dispatch and clients on rides.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
