Position Overview
- Assures that services to clients meet fidelity standards for ACT programming. Participates in ACT MIFAST reviews every three years to ensure programming continues.
- Assists with the development of agency policy direction, goals, and outcomes by participating on agency-wide committees and task forces.
- Establishes/plans/implements program priorities, goals, and outcomes in cooperation with the Program Director and other Clinical Supervisors.
- Participates in hiring, management, and evaluation of professional and support staff.
- Monitors management reports dealing with productivity, client service, and expense/revenue.
- May be responsible for authorization of individual and program expenses incurred by the program supervised.
- Assures that staff adequately perform their job functions via periodic review of clinical documentation, units of service provided, and general job performance.
- Provides consultation to other agencies regarding services and mental health issues of consumers and referrals.
- Provides community education regarding mental health issues.
- Provides direct client care encompassing assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, therapy, and case management as appropriate.
- Provides clinical and administrative supervision for team staff. May provide additional oversight and supervision for specialized certifications.
- Maintains all agency paperwork and clinical record documentation in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Attends and participates in agency meetings as well as program specific team meetings.
- Consistently maintains individual productivity within expected range.
- Understands and implements agency and county personnel policies and the collective bargaining agreement.
- Performs other functions as assigned.
Licenses and Certifications:
Must possess or obtain State of Michigan licensure or certification (LLP, LMSW, LPC, etc.)
Certified Advance Addiction and Drug Counselor (CAADC) strongly preferred.
Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license is required. Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Thorough working knowledge of the principles and practices of social work, psychology, and the treatment of individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles of recovery, community integration, and maximized independence.
- Thorough working knowledge of effective leadership techniques, independent problem solving, conflict resolution, team building, and interagency collaboration.
- Thorough working knowledge of the principles and practices of clinical assessment and diagnosis, and the DSM-5 criteria.
- Thorough working knowledge of MDHHS accreditation requirements and mental health care practitioner licensing requirements.
- Good working knowledge of the principles and practices of community-based mental health services.
- Demonstrates the capacity to work effectively within agency parameters.
- Good working knowledge of managerial and supervisory principles and practices.
- Good working knowledge of relevant Evidence-Based Practices, relevant to specific target populations.
- Good working knowledge of varied interventions.
- Ability to write clear and concise evaluation reports, progress notes, and other necessary documentation.
- Participates with and accepts clinical and administrative supervision.
- Engages consumers easily and establishes a therapeutic alliance early in the treatment process.
- Good working knowledge of the principles and practices of budget preparation and control.
- Shows willingness to learn and use new skills and takes advantage of regular training and staff development opportunities and resources.
- Thorough working knowledge of the principles and practices of medical record documentation and medical records management.
- Good working knowledge of program assessment and quality assurance principles, practices, protocols and instruments.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literacy and working knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, database and project management software.
