JOB POSITION: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)-Family Clinic
Department: Nursing
Reports to: Clinic Manager
Job Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides patient care and clinical support in coordination with providers and the healthcare team. Responsible for implementing physician orders, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring quality, compassionate patient care in a clinic setting.
Essential Duties:
- Perform and document patient assessments; communicate findings to providers.
- Implement and document physician orders accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Administer medications, treatments, and diagnostic procedures per policy.
- Support lab, x-ray, and other diagnostic services as directed.
- Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and confidentiality standards.
- Contribute to patient and family education and ensure respectful, compassionate interactions.
- Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and training.
- Support teamwork, mentor peers, and maintain a positive, professional image.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinic Manager or Administration.
Regulatory Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current Kansas LPN license in good standing.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Ongoing CE to maintain licensure and professional development.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to patients, clinical equipment, and infectious materials.
- Requires manual dexterity, visual acuity, and effective communication skills.
