Position Title: Tax Manager
Reports to: Associate Director, Tax
General Function
Otsuka America is a holding company made up of more than a dozen group companies focused on developing and delivering original products as part of a global commitment to better health and well-being. As a members of Otsuka global business, Otsuka America’s group companies develop and market products in the pharmaceutical and consumer packaged goods industries. Products include Abilify®, Rexulti®, Nature Made®, Crystal Geyser Water®, and Pocari Sweat®.
We are looking for a Tax Manager to join our growing tax department. The Tax Manager will assist in income tax compliance, accounting, and planning. Previous indirect tax experience is a plus. Success in this role is dependent on leadership, communication, project management, process improvement, strategic execution, and ability to perform in a rapidly changing business environment.
Principal Responsibilities
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax provisions; prepare monthly tax entries, account reconciliations, and other tax accounting reports in accordance with ASC 740/IAS 12;
Coordinate responses to state tax notices and audits with Associate Director, Tax and external service providers;
- Coordinate the filing of quarterly estimated payments, extensions, and income tax returns with external service provider;
- Coordinate tax related studies such as Research and Development tax credit and M&E analysis with external service provider;
- Work with Associate Director, Tax to prepare tax budget and cash tax forecast;
- Collaborate with affiliates to ensure global compliance;
- Research and respond to internal clients on tax-related matters; and
- Lead or assist with ad hoc projects or assignments;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Degree & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; and
- 5 year combined experience working in public accounting or corporate tax departments.

Job Knowledge & Skills:
Facility with federal, multi-state, and international tax concepts;
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate in a team-oriented environment;
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks; and
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, OneSource Tax Provision, and tax research tools.
Other Required Qualifications:
- Ability to think and act proactively and strategically regarding tax matters;
- Ability to identify opportunities to resolve tax related issues, provide recommendations for tax mitigation and process improvement.
Preferred Qualifications & Knowledge:
- Big 4 experience strongly preferred
- MS in Taxation or other relevant graduate degree
- Experience in pharmaceutical or consumer packaged goods industries
- Knowledge of IFRS tax accounting standards
- Knowledge of indirect tax

Pay Range:
The starting base pay for this position in the Princeton, NJ area is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, paid time off, and a benefits package including but not limited to company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage, basic life, accidental death & dismemberment, short-term and long-term disability insurance, behavioral health assistance, tuition reimbursement, and a generous 401(k) match.
$135,000 - $150,000
