Inventory Control Lead

To oversee and manage the inventory control processes and procedures for tires used in heavy equipment and industrial applications. The primary focus of this role is to ensure accurate inventory levels, efficient material flow, and effective utilization of resources related to tire inventory.

Essential Functions:

1. Develop and implement inventory control strategies and procedures to optimize inventory accuracy, minimize discrepancies, and ensure proper material flow.

2. Supervise and lead a team of inventory control personnel, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.

3. Maintain accurate records of tire inventory, including stock levels, locations, and movement history.

4. Coordinate with Plant Manager and warehouse departments to ensure timely and accurate receipt of OTR tires and proper placement within the inventory system.

5. Conduct regular cycle counts, physical inventory audits, and reconciliation activities to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.

6. Analyze inventory data and generate reports to assess inventory levels, movements, and potential risks or opportunities.

7. Utilize inventory management systems and software to track and manage OTR tire inventory, including barcode scanning and data entry.

8. Monitor and enforce compliance with inventory control policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

9. Implement and maintain proper storage and handling practices for the company.

10. Prevent damage and ensure product quality.

11. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline inventory control processes, enhance accuracy, and reduce costs.

12. Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in inventory control and management.

13. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations related to OTR tire storage and handling.

14. Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities:

1. Use measuring tools such as calipers and gauges to ensure correct dimensions.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a manufacturing environment. At times, the employee will be exposed to manufacturing environment, including forklift traffic, fumes, noise, and operating manufacturing equipment.

Physical Demands:

1. This position requires the ability to lift over 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. Will also require some weekend work.

Travel:

No overnight travel is expected for this position. There may be occasional local day travel.

Required Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor's or Associates degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.

2. Proven experience in inventory control, materials management, or warehouse supervision, preferably in the tire industry.

3. In-depth knowledge of inventory management principles, processes, and best practices.

4. Familiarity with inventory management systems and software, preferably with experience in implementing and utilizing such systems.

5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.

6. Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on coaching, training, and motivating staff.

Preferred Education and Experience:

1. Proficient in using computer systems and software applications for data analysis and reporting.

2. Strong attention to detail and accuracyin maintaining inventory records.

3. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.

4. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.

5. Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to inventory management and storage practices.

6. Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
