Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and visionary Executive Sous Chef / Culinary Agent to lead kitchen operations, create unique and exciting menus, and help build a high-performing culinary team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on creativity, organization, and leadership while respecting kosher dietary laws.
Key Responsibilities Culinary Innovation
- Develop and execute innovative, high-end kosher menus featuring bold flavors, seasonal ingredients, and creative plating.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to design special tasting menus, holiday offerings, and signature dishes.
- Research global food trends and adapt them into kosher-friendly culinary concepts.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, train, and inspire a diverse culinary team to deliver exceptional food quality and consistency.
- Create, implement, and maintain kitchen systems, workflows, prep lists, and workstation organization.
- Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative kitchen environment.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including ordering, inventory control, recipe costing, and vendor relationships.
- Ensure all recipes, plating standards, and portion sizes are followed and documented.
- Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation standards, with strict adherence to kosher guidelines under rabbinical supervision.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Executive Sous Chef, Culinary Agent, or similar leadership role.
- Strong understanding of kosher kitchen operations (prior kosher experience preferred but not required—training provided).
- Exceptional culinary creativity and attention to detail in flavor balance and plating.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage a kitchen team.
- Excellent organizational and system-building skills (prep systems, inventory, ordering, production schedules).
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining standards of excellence.
