Job Description
OTJ is looking for an entry level Mechanical Designer. This role focuses on the planning, design, and execution of mechanical systems for a wide range of building and infrastructure projects. This position is ideal for early‑career professionals looking to develop hands-on experience in mechanical systems design.
Responsibilities
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (preferred)
- Assist with the drafting of Mechanical and Plumbing Systems associated with Construction Documentation.
- Assist with developing internal load calculations using Trace 700 Load Calculation Software.
- Asist with the development of outside Air/Ventilation Calculations.
- Assist in coordination with architects, structural, civil, and MEP engineering teams throughout design development and construction.
- Participate in field observations at various project sites around the DMV area.
- A successful candidate is proactive and able to remain flexible while delivering high quality work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- 0-3 years of experience in the Mechanical Engineering field
- Excellent oral and written communication skills: outgoing and personable
- Highly motivated, creative and collaborative
- Must be organized and attentive to detail
