This dual-role position encompasses the entire brewing process, including grain handling, wort production, cellaring operations, packaging, and the efficient operation of packaging machinery.

This is a very hands-on position. Flexibility with schedule and ability to work evenings, graveyard shifts, and weekends are a must. The candidate must be able to multitask efficiently, problem solve, and work well with others and independently. Thorough knowledge of process, quality, and raw materials is obligatory. Moreover, strong planning and organizational abilities are essential. Communication skills, both written and oral, attention to detail, and an emphasis on quality are paramount for success in this role.
Brewing Operations:
- Execute all brewing phases (grain handling, wort production, dry hopping, packaging) to ensure high-quality product.
- Manage yeast through harvesting, pitching, and record-keeping to maintain product consistency.
- Perform CIP and equipment maintenance to ensure a safe, efficient work environment.
- Follow recipes and SOPs while being open to innovation and process improvements.
- Maintain a safety-first culture using proper PPE and following best practices.
Collaborate with the brewing team for effective problem-solving and operations management. Operate machinery (forklifts, electric pallet jacks, scissor lifts) to support brewing operations.
- Conduct brewing quality tests using an alcolyzer, densitometer, pH meters, DO and CO2 meters, cellometer, and basic lab equipment.
- Assist with preventative maintenance for brewing and testing equipment.
- Train in and support packaging operations when necessary.
- Participation in sensory training and panels.
Packaging Operations:
- Operate packaging machinery (canning line, keg cleaning and filling, etc) efficiently to meet production goals while maintaining product quality.
- Perform setup, changeovers, and adjustments to packaging equipment for smooth and continuous operation.
- Monitor packaging processes, conduct quality checks, and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and waste.
- Keep accurate records of production counts, downtime, and quality data.
- Assist with the organization and inventory of raw materials, kegs, labels, cans, etc.
Requirements:
- Minimum two years of professional brewing experience (formal brewing education preferred).
- Experience in packaging or manufacturing operations preferred.
- Strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent multitasking and problem-solving skills, able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Effective organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in brewing software and technology (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Orchestrated Beer).
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime.
- Physically capable of meeting the demands of the brewing and packaging process (lifting, standing, working in various temperatures, and using ladders).

The base pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00 per hour. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
