Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director of Labor Relations, the Labor Relations Manager and the Director of Labor Relations serve as day-to-day resources for all labor relations matters in Tenet’s affiliated California and Tennessee markets. This role will be part of a team that provides labor relations assistance to seven facilities in California and two facilities in Tennessee and will work closely with senior human resources leadership.
Under the direction of the Senior Director of Labor Relations, this individual will provide guidance and assistance on grievance processing, contract interpretation and administration, and labor law compliance.
This position offers opportunities for professional growth, with the potential to expand into a broader role supporting labor relations efforts across the United States.

Responsibilities
- Advise and counsel hospitals on labor relations matters.
- Manage contract compliance at multiple facilities with a number of labor unions and assist with contract bargaining as needed.
- Support market hospitals in all aspects of the grievance/arbitration process, including scheduling arbitrations and managing outside counsel in arbitrations, as appropriate.
- Assist with managing preparation for, and the response to strikes and picketing, as well as other work actions by labor unions.
- Assist with union organizing when needed.
- Travel as necessary between seven facilities located in California and the two facilities located in Memphis, Tennessee. We will run an MVR on the final candidate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; JD preferred.
- 5-7 years of related experience.
- Experience managing the grievance and arbitration process.
- Experience managing outside counsel.
- Experience with union campaigns is helpful.
- Experience with union negotiations is helpful.
- Extensive experience with and knowledge of labor and employment laws and labor relations.
- Possess research, analytical, organization, and computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Ability to work independently as well as having strong interpersonal, organization, written and communication skills.
Compensation:
- Pay: $103,584 - $165,568 annually. Compensation depends on location, qualifications, and experience.
- Position may be eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan bonus of 15% depending on role level.
- Management level positions may be eligible for sign-on and relocation bonuses.
