Description of Position:

The Finishing Machine Operator is responsible for applying various non-hazardous chemicals, dyes, coatings and other finishing treatments to narrow woven fabrics. The position is responsible for operating and monitoring various equipment to ensure efficient production and high-quality production results.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepares machines for operation by applying all appropriate settings according to product specifications and shop order instructions.

• Properly mixes chemicals according to defined formulas and ensures they are applied correctly to the fabric and in accordance with all specifications.

• Monitors, maintains, and regulates equipment controls to maintain specified heat, pressure, and speed settings.

• Reports production information such as fabric yardage produced, temperature, pressure, and speed readings.

• Observes display screens, control panels, equipment, and fabric entering and exiting the machine to determine if the equipment is operating correctly.

• Notifies supervisors of equipment malfunctions and needs.

• Maintains the Finishing Department by performing daily cleaning and organizing of tools and other materials used. Reports all daily production results and transaction information in ERP system.

• Understands and consistently follows all Quality System and safety protocols and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School degree or equivalent is desired.

• Must have good organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.

• Must have a basic understanding of computers.

• Must be able to communicate in a professional manner

. Must be able to read, write, and have basic math skills.

• Must be able to read a ruler, standard/ metric caliper, and use a calculator.

• Must be able to comprehend and perform special instructions when necessary.

• Preferred to have basic technical knowledge of coatings and/or painting processes

• Work overtime as needed.

Pay: $15.00 per hour
