OTERO COUNTY, Alamogordo, New Mexico is recruiting for TBRDA/911 Director.
Employment Status: Full-Time – Contract – At Will
Experience Required: Five (5) years of 911 experience related to the operation of computers, radio, and telecommunications systems and providing police, fire, and EMS dispatch operations. A minimum of three (3) years must be in a supervisory capacity.
Minimum Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or a combination of college level education, certifications, and experience to perform the job. Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities and satisfies state statutes.
Certification: This position requires a valid New Mexico Driver’s License. Must have or obtain within 90 days of hire. Valid New Mexico Telecommunication Certification or ability to obtain certification within nine (9) months.
Job Summary: Under the direction of the Tularosa Basin Regional Dispatch Authority Board, directs a 911 emergency telephone system and centralized emergency dispatch center responsible for dispatching all law enforcement, fire and ambulance services within Otero County, New Mexico. Responsible for the maintenance for all communications and related equipment. Responsible for all administrative functions of the dispatch authority including financial, personnel and preparation and administration of the budget. Director must meet the minimum requirements, conditions of employment, and be able to successfully perform all essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations. This position will require irregular hours and travel by the director.
Knowledge
· Thorough understanding of Motorola Spillman Systems, Flex and Mobile CAD.
· Understanding of Core Technologies Talon.
· Working understanding of Motorola MCC 5500/7500 and Zetron radio consoles
· Principles, policies and procedures of the New Mexico Public Safety Communications System and NFPA 1221 standards as they relate to a PSAP.
· Principles and procedures of record keeping.
· English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
· Pertinent Federal, State and County policies, procedures, laws and regulations.
Salary: DOQ plus benefits package.
