Competitive Pay: This position offers an hourly wage starting at $23/hr , depending on experience and qualifications.
What You'll Do:
- Fabricate, erect, install, and maintain shop machinery.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerance using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and veneer calipers.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, machines and materials onto machines.
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
- Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers or grinders.
- Measure, examine and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments.
- Set controls to regulate machining, or enter commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on shop equipment.
- Continued education and training to meet the needs of an evolving service industry.
- Capable of working independently with little to no supervision.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with company and industry safety regulations.
What You'll Need:
- High school diploma or GED required; Technical diploma in related area of study, such as Precision Machining, preferred.
- 1-3 Years of manual machining experience.
- Experience using precision measuring tools and equipment.
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance according to published guidelines.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals.
- Industrial shop environment with exposure to noise, heavy equipment, and cutting fluids.
- Requires standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and manual dexterity.
- Availability to work shifts outside of normal work schedule, including required OT on weekends and holidays.
- Proficient computer skills (MS Office; Outlook, Excel and Word) and ability to operate windows-based programs from a tablet, computer, or smartphone.
