We are looking for a skilled Industrial Equipment Technician with experience in refurbishing surplus equipment and maintaining chiller systems. This role combines mechanical, electrical, and HVAC expertise to ensure equipment operates efficiently and meets safety standards.
What You'll Do
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and refurbish surplus industrial equipment to restore functionality.
- Disassemble, clean, and repair mechanical and electrical components.
- Perform preventive maintenance and calibration on various equipment types.
- Diagnose and repair chiller systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control panels.
- Perform refrigerant recovery, leak detection, and system recharging in compliance with EPA regulations.
- Maintain and replace pumps, valves, and piping associated with chiller systems.
- Monitor system performance and ensure proper temperature control and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts usage, and equipment status.
- Operate tools and machinery safely, including lifts and hoists when required.
- Keep work areas organized and adhere to 5-S and safety standards.
- High school diploma or GED; technical or HVAC certification preferred.
- 2–3 years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance and chiller systems.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work safely at heights.
- Knowledge of EPA refrigerant handling guidelines and safety compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
