Job Title: Water Quality Specialist Department: Health System Shared Services | Facilities Operations The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of care provided to patients through teaching, research, and patient care. The activities of the Facilities Operations and Development Wexner Medical Center District support a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week operation. The water quality specialist provides technical expertise and advanced troubleshooting for mechanical and plumbing activities, including but not limited to water filter deployment and water flushing activities. They perform the role of on-site Ohio EPA certified class 1 public water system operator. They develop, maintain, and record documentation related to regulatory compliance, water testing, telemetry, and system maintenance; develop and analyze water quality reports; and perform water quality field testing. They facilitate inspections by authorities having jurisdiction. They coordinate projects with internal stakeholders, customers, external stakeholders, and contractors. They perform and oversee quality control functions following project completion to ensure customer satisfaction and ease of maintenance for operations. For Hire: Associate or bachelor degree in applied sciences or equivalent experience, journeymen’s license in plumbing and pipefitting or wastewater treatment 2-4 years’ experience in the repair and maintenance of plumbing systems Future state :Ohio EPA Certified Class 1 Operator Public Water Systems (must obtain certification within 18 months of hire). and SSE 12080 Legionella Water Safety and Management Specialist Certification (certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire).
