Pharmacy Technician

Ostroms Drug & Gift is Kenmore's most trusted pharmacy for over 60 years. We haven't had a technician choose to leave for any reason other than retirement in over 6 years; and our current technicians are happy to give you the inside scoop on working here.

We are looking for a technician. We consider full-time or part-time. Open 9am - 9pm and some evenings and weekends are required.

WE WILL TRY TO CRAFT A SCHEDULE THAT MEETS YOUR NEEDS, 20-40 hours / week.

Essential Job Functions:

• Treat each and every customer with cheer, enthusiasm, and caring
• Enter patient’s information into computer accurately and efficiently
• Count, measure and prepare prescriptions with perfect accuracy
• Follow company procedures
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and with cheer!
• Maintain a clean and organized work station
• Be a great teammate! Help your team members to enjoy their work.
• Practice safety at all times. Comply with safety procedures and identify management of unsafe conditions.
• Report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud
• Assist pharmacist in all responsibilities, except those that require a judgment call by a pharmacist
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
• Look for opportunities to increase sales and profitability

Physical Demands

• All work is performed while standing and moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, moving from one work area to another
• Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than whole hand or arm
• Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in all directions
• Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist
• Stooping, requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles
• Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed accurately with fluent English
• Having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, even in a noisy environment
• Good eyesight, with corrective lenses if needed

Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs; exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 30 lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects

Minimum Position Qualifications/Education:

• Must be 18 years of age
• Washington State Pharmacy Technician License
• Ability to learn and comply with HIPAA regulations
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of customer records and information
• Full covid vaccination per Washington State law

Salary: $19.84 / hour, depending on experience

Bonus: Up to $8 / hour, depending on store profitability. Bonus averaged $4.26 / hour from Feb 2021-Jan 2022.
