Job Overview
Construction contractor and construction materials producer is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety and Environmental Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe working environment by implementing safety protocols and compliance with regulations. This position requires expertise in occupational health and safety practices, as well as the ability to train and develop staff on safety measures.
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA, MSHA, and DOT regulations, and EPA guidelines.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Provide training and development programs for employees on first aid, CPR, OSHA an MSHA standards, and other relevant safety topics.
- Perform root cause analysis for incidents and accidents to prevent future occurrences.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, incidents, and compliance status for management review.
- Collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of health and safety throughout the organization.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a manufacturing and construction environment with a strong understanding of occupational health and safety practices.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, MSHA regulation, EPA guidelines, and relevant industry standards is preferred.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred; additional certifications in EHS or related fields are a plus.
- Strong skills in report writing, data analysis, and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to train employees effectively on safety protocols.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
