Title: CNC Machinist / Manual Machine Operator
Location: King William VA
Work Schedule: 7-5pm Monday – Thursday – off Fridays
Note: CNC Machinist / Manual Operator – has to be a jack of all trades and skilled in everything CNC / shop environments .
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist / Manual Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC and manual machine tools to produce high-quality precision parts while meeting safety, quality, and production standards.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and manual machining equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials.
- Perform machine offsets and minor program adjustments as needed.
- Operate manual mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other shop equipment.
- Measure finished parts using precision inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and indicators.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments.
- Maintain production records and inspection documentation.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and keep equipment clean and organized.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
Qualifications
- 2 years of CNC machining and/or manual machining experience.
- Experience operating CNC mills and lathes.
- Ability to read blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, feeds, speeds, and tooling.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to hold tight tolerances.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
