- Reviews all purchase requirements in the “Syteline workbench” on a daily basis as directed.
- Purchase prescribed routine raw materials, semi-finished goods, finished parts, supplies and/or equipment ensuring that all quality, delivery, and specification requirements are met at the lowest possible cost.
- Process the approved purchase requisitions as appropriate.
- Gather quotes from various vendors/suppliers on requested parts, equipment and/or supplies.
- Negotiate prices on a limited basis as directed.
- Maintain and update active purchase orders.
- Expedite purchase orders at the direction of management.
- Research and qualify new vendors as required.
- Assist in the measurement and reporting of cost increases, reductions, and avoidances as directed.
- Participate in the Inventory Management process aimed at planning and controlling inventory levels.
- Update spreadsheets, review and analyze purchasing data as directed.
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; 2-year technical degree or 3 years in a purchasing and/or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Problem-solving skills, analytical, and reasoning ability.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication to interact with others in a professional manner.
- Ability to interpret instructions whether written, spoken, or in a diagram.
- Ability to work well in a team and independently in a dynamic environment.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage files and records effectively.
- Computer skills especially in the use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Experience with ERP software a plus.
