Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to menu specifications, recipes, and dietary guidelines
- Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and slicers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety standards
- Assist with menu planning and ingredient sourcing to ensure freshness and variety
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure food safety
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service times
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality standards
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for efficiency and safety
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Familiarity with food safety management systems and safety standards in production environments
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and adapt dishes as needed for dietary restrictions or special requests
- Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with kitchen staff and team members
