What are the responsibilities and job description for the ASSET MANAGER AND WORKOUT SPECIALIST position at OSP LP?
Primary Position Objective
Manage commercial loan portfolios with an emphasis on ensuring collections for nonperforming and underperforming credits of varying types, in senior and subordinate lien positions.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain regular contact with borrowers within assigned portfolio with emphasis on borrowers with underperforming and nonperforming credits.
- Maintain reporting for of nonperforming and underperforming credits.
- Negotiate with Borrowers to secure collateral or assets as appropriate and necessary.
- Assist in preparing and executing loan workout strategies to ensure optimal asset recovery in accordance with client objectives.
- Assist with initiating foreclosure proceedings and engaging and working with receivers to ensure optimal collections and minimize any decline in collateral value.
- Review and interpret commercial loan documents to ensure servicing and covenant compliance for commercial credits in senior and subordinate positions in accordance with agreed upon terms.
- Report and actively pursue resolution of past due items and matters of default in accordance with agreed upon terms.
- Ensure effective written and verbal communication with staff, management and clients; and
- Adhere to timelines and deadlines established based on client needs and department workflow.

Independent Judgment:
- Identify potential issues, including but not limited to, inconsistencies, errors and defaults and effectively report those issues to managers and clients.
- Familiarity of all aspects of servicing nonperforming and underperforming commercial credits, including, but not limited to payment collections, negotiating terms, securing collateral, asset recovery and the foreclosure process.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years’ experience with managing commercial loans.
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance or accounting related field or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of commercial loan documentation.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Robust problem-solving skills.
- Ability to implore critical thinking measures and to think through global consequences.
- Strong computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook and ability to learn new loan servicing systems or other software as implemented.
- Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be able to produce at a high level under limited supervision and meet imposed deadlines in a fast paced, demanding environment.
- Must be able to work independently and in a cooperative team environment.
