CNC Machinist Lead - 2nd Shift

In this role, you will:
Ensure that the nightly operations of the shop flows according to schedule. Make certain that all shop employees know how to perform their jobs and that they have the tools to do their jobs, understand, and follow all safety protocols.
Essential Duties:
- Coaches, reviews, supervise assigned employees
- Make suggestions that are given a certain weight regarding the employment status of assigned employees
- Audit production quality, data sheets, and work order completion
- Oversee and maintain equipment, tooling, and programs
- Perform machine set-ups
- Maximize output by scheduling and assigning work for personnel
- Trains and informs employees of new work methods or procedures, changes in safety regulations, and work policies
- Revises schedules according to work order specifications, establishes priorities, availability or capability of workers, parts, material, machines, and equipment
- Monitor assigned personnel to ensure they follow company and department policies
- Enforce safety regulations and adhere to proper codes and standards
- Able to perform all the duties of the Employees in their department
- Always observe and practice company safety procedures
- Work with and communicate closely with first shift leadership to ensure a smooth transition between shifts
- Other duties may be assigned
Required and Preferred Abilities:
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures
- Write routine reports and correspondence
- Strong understanding of G-Code
- Operate an overhead crane and forklift
- Well versed with measurement devices and methodologies
- Speak effectively before employees of organization
- Minimal Computer Skills - Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications of components, assemblies, finished products for conformance of all requirements
- Knowledge of machines and tools; able to determine the correct equipment and tools needed to do a job correctly
- Strong basic math skills including decimals and fractions
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- Operate, handle, and lift shop equipment and tools
- Lift materials and products up to 50 pounds
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of relevant experience
