Osmo is seeking a Sensor Hardware Development summer intern to build our knowledge and strategies for sensor optimization including sample introduction and signal. You will be a member of the Sensors team, reporting to the Director of Sensor Technology.

Key Responsibilities
- Working under the direction of our Sensor Application Scientist and reporting to the Director of Sensor Technology
- Utilizing knowledge of fluid dynamics, additive manufacturing, and engineering to apply published research findings and optimize sample introduction.
- Maximizing sensor signal through parameter optimization.
- 4 days a week in person in our new Elizabeth, NJ facility.
- Current Undergraduate or Graduate student in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Experience with rapid prototyping and experimental hardware platforms, such as:
- Microcontroller-based systems (e.g., Arduino-class platforms)
- Single-board computers (e.g., Raspberry Pi-class platforms)
- Sensors, actuators, pumps, valves, or other fluid-handling components
- Experience in CAD software, additive manufacturing, and embedded systems engineering.
- Interest in learning about chemical sensing and analytical chemistry.
- Strong collaborative mindset and initiative to tackle problems
- Experience in fluid dynamics
- Experience in chemical sensing techniques such as ion mobility spectrometry, mass spectrometry, and spectroscopy
- Additional experience in chemistry or machine learning
