What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Supervisor | 2nd Shift position at OSM Worldwide?
OSM is seeking a hands-on Operations Supervisor to lead our 2nd shift at a state-of-the-art, fully automated sorting facility in York, PA. This role plays a critical part in keeping our operation running smoothly—leading associates, driving production results, and ensuring accuracy, safety, and service excellence. When on-site leadership isn’t present, you’ll take the reins as acting Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and support associates within the assigned department to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient operations
- Oversee the processing, sorting, and movement of mail and parcels to meet prescribed production rates and service goals
- Prepare and distribute end-of-shift close and manifest reports to the next shift and destination OSM locations
- Act as the Operations Manager during assigned shifts when management is not present
- Set up processing stations at the start of each shift and ensure proper system and equipment readiness
- Troubleshoot basic software issues within the in-house operating system (OSMART)
- Communicate production status and send required reports to destination OSM locations and the USPS
- Assess staffing needs and coordinate with staffing agencies to ensure adequate coverage
- Document and report workplace accidents or incidents involving assigned associates
- Manage container allocation, labeling, transfers, and proper placement within the work area
- Coordinate inbound and outbound transfers to and from OSM locations
- Minimum of 2 years of warehouse or distribution experience
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
