Summary:
This is a temporary, 16–18 month, fully on-site role based at the Southwest Campus in Houston, TX, focused on delivering strategic Human Resources and Talent Business Partnership services to senior leadership. The incumbent serves as a trusted advisor and change agent, driving organizational effectiveness, culture transformation, and leadership development across multiple healthcare facilities. With a strong foundation in HR operations and business acumen, this professional partners with executive teams to shape HR strategy, implement impactful talent initiatives, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. The role requires advanced expertise in change management, performance improvement, and employee engagement, with a commitment to fostering a high-performing, compassionate, and inclusive work environment that supports safe, high-quality patient care and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

Lead, mentor, and manage direct reports, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and disciplinary actions.

Serve as the primary HR leader for at least two community hospitals, a large academic medical center, or a System Services organization.

Contribute to the development and execution of HR strategy aligned with business objectives.

Maintain fiscal accountability for HR facility or entity budgets.

Design, develop, and deliver targeted training and interventions in strategic talent planning, engagement, retention, leadership development, culture transformation, and change management.

Act as a driving force behind change initiatives, ensuring alignment with performance-driven culture goals.

Apply diagnostic and analytical skills to identify root causes of performance and work environment challenges, and develop data-informed solutions through stakeholder collaboration.

Assess business processes and initiatives to identify opportunities for optimizing human capital and improving outcomes.

Participate in key operational forums (e.g., Monthly Operational Review) to align HR actions with business priorities and drive execution.

Proactively identify strategic gaps and develop consulting plans to address systemic issues.

Ensure compliance with Memorial Hermann policies, safety standards, and budgetary requirements.

Support professional growth through mentoring, precepting, and promoting continuous learning and competency development.

Model and promote Memorial Hermann’s service standards by delivering compassionate, personalized, and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field (required); Master’s degree preferred.

Certified HR Professional (e.g., PHR, SPHR, or equivalent) preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR business or client management experience with demonstrated expertise in strategic talent planning, employee engagement, retention, client relations, business partnership, leadership development, culture transformation, and change management.

At least 5 years of people management experience with direct supervisory responsibility.

Exceptional leadership, influence, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Proven ability to engage effectively with leaders and teams at all organizational levels.

Strong diagnostic, conceptual, and strategic thinking abilities.

Demonstrated success in project management, process mapping, and objective evaluation.

Advanced written, verbal, and presentation skills with strong group facilitation capabilities.

Deep understanding of HR functional areas including compensation, performance management, and employee relations.

Experience in complex organizational environments with a focus on change processes, conflict resolution, and team effectiveness.
