What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Technician position at OSI Engineering?
A globally leading consumer device company based in San Diego, CA is looking for Lab Technician to join their team. This role will focus on developing and supporting a new RGB–IR Lab annotation method to improve high-resolution matting and segmentation data, enabling more detailed alpha channel outputs, foreground color annotation for spill correction, and more reliable model validation, with potential to scale for training and video data applications.
Key responsibilities:
• Set up indoor capture scenes for cross-functional imaging modalities
• Conduct multi-modal image captures with proper pre-registration
• Data analysis and reporting
• Define and improve lab operating safety and image quality control
• Acquire video captures of real people, rendered in different types of pseudo background to get a total of ~2k video clips, with 2k/4k optimal resolution and 5 fps
• Handle user onboarding and processing for human capture studies
Required qualifications:
• Deep familiarity with camera hardware
• Expert understanding of illumination, imaging pipelines, optical aberration analysis
• Experience with image capture pipeline, image quality / 3A
• Familiarity with image processing and computer vision
Type: Contract
Duration: 12 months with extension

Pay rate: $74.00 - $89.00/ph (DOE)
