All temporaries are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time. Individuals hired into a temporary State job must be fully qualified for the job. This temporary position is located in Rocky Mount, NC - Nash County. Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $24.41 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services. This position is located at141 Storage Rd, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. Duties include working with families and providers to develop functional Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), work with multidisciplinary teams to determine families' needs for supports and services, conduct home visits, coordinate and facilitate services and transition planning, and participate in the authorization and monitoring of early intervention services. Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants. Management Preferences: Thorough knowledge of the concepts, practices, and techniques of the field of early childhood developmental disabilities and infant mental health, including assessments and development of comprehensive treatment plans. Skill in developing, writing and documenting child progress in individualized family service plans Ability to coordinate and instruct staff, family members and care providers in carrying out methods and techniques utilized in developmental disabilities and infant and child mental health and family studies field Ability to establish rapport and relate to clients, families, community agencies and groups and a variety of service disciplines Ability to manage time independently and develop and use methods of organization to facilitate compliance with all timelines, documentation requirements and procedural safeguards Minimum Education and Experience Some state job postings say you can qualify by an “equivalent combination of education and experience.” If that language appears below, then you may qualify through EITHER years of education OR years of directly related experience, OR a combination of both. Bachelor s degree in Special Education, Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education, Psychology from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of professional experience working with the population served; or Bachelor s degree in human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of professional experience working with the population served; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
