Expected pay for this position is $31.49 - $37.05/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

In accordance with established policies and procedures, administers medical gases, medications, airway clearance, mechanical ventilation, other respiratory modalities, monitor levels of supplies and equipment for department and patient care areas. Applies theoretical knowledge to care of neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with other members of the healthcare team by demonstrating competence in respiratory skills, problem solving, and critical thinking that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Associate’s degree, Successful completion of respiratory therapy program from an accredited school.
Experience: Must have basic electronic medical record documentation skills.
Licensure/ Certification:
BLS required, NRP after 6 months of hire.
Must be a credentialed Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
Must have a current Respiratory Care Practitioner license and current National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentials if credentialed after July 1, 2002 or a new graduate therapist must successfully pass both the NBRC TMC (The Multiple Choice) and CSE (Clinical Simulation Exam) exams.
Proof of Application must be made for appropriate state licensure before orientation to the department can begin.
Licensure must be obtained within six months of hire for new graduates per the Licensure Practice Act.
Other Skills/ Knowledge:
At SMMC Galesburg; Respiratory Therapists must obtain NRP within six months of hire.

- Both CRT and RRT candidates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with the RRT credential would have a higher pay scale.
