Expected pay for this position is $46.05 - $61.02/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is a Salaried position.
Overview
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager Clinical Surgery oversees the daily operations of surgical services, leading the 24 hour operation of the clinical areas, ensuring high-quality patient care, optimal staffing, and efficient clinical workflows. This role provides leadership to perioperative nursing and surgical support teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. The manager collaborates with physicians, anesthesia, and ancillary departments to coordinate surgical schedules, manage resources, and enhance the patient experience. Additionally, responsible for staff development, compliance with regulatory standards, and the implementation of evidence-based practices within the surgical environment.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing
Experience: 3-5 years of Operating Room related work experience.
Licensure/ Certification: Current and active Registered Nursing License in the State of Illinois, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.The job incumbent is required to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served. This requires that the incumbent demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of the patient population served. Advanced professional knowledge of nursing theory, practice and administration in order to oversee planning and implementation of patient care in Perioperative Services, and to prepare related reports, analyses, policies and budgets.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Master’s degree MSN
Experience: 2 years of progressive leadership experience is preferred.
Licensure/ Certification: CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) CSSM (Certified Surgical Services Manager)
