Expected pay for this position is $18.80 - $22.12/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.
Overview
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sister Visitor is an integral part of a Pastoral Care team that embraces a model of care for the whole person – body, mind and spirit. Directed to the spiritual dimensions of the human person that are often appreciated more deeply during times of illness, pastoral care is an integral part of the patient care team. Sister Visitors are effectively integrated with patient care to provide for the pastoral and sacramental needs of patients, families and Mission Partners on patient care units throughout the medical center. A foundational focus of Pastoral Care is to serve as a pastoral and spiritual support to patients, care givers and patient care teams in ways they identify as meaningful and helpful. Through professional training and certification, the Sister Visitor assists patients/families to understand more fully life's events as they relate to their spiritual and emotional well-being.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma/ GED, Completed a curriculum of theological classes and displays skills and competencies in pastoral care. Experience: Solid standing in the Church through ecclesiastical endorsement. Must meet requirements of the local Catholic Diocese regarding the appointment pastoral care staff of a Catholic healthcare institution. Licensure/ Certification: N/A Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. Ability to articulate the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Facilities. Ability and desire to work with patients/family, clergy and volunteers of varying faith backgrounds. Flexibility in work hours, programs, and services.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree.1 unit of Clinical Pastoral Education. Experience: 1 year pastoral care experience in acute care hospital setting. Licensure/ Certification: N/A Other Skills/ Knowledge: N/A
