Expected pay for this position is $42.05 - $49.47/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.
Overview
OSF will invest in you on day 1! Candidates with 5 years of direct experience will receive 24 hours of Vacation and Holiday time that will be available for use beginning day 1. This is in addition to our generous time-off benefits.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cardiac Sonographer III follows established policies, procedures, and performs and records Echocardiology diagnostic tests independently as a registered diagnostic cardiac sonographer in two patient populations (Adult, Pediatric, Fetal) or has additional training to independently perform transesophageal echocardiology for intra-op echocardiology, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) echocardiograms, and/or advanced heart failure/transplant echocardiograms. In doing so, obtains information about normal and abnormal anatomy used to diagnosis disease, and ensures echocardiogram exams are of acceptable quality and records results.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Associate’s degree in allied health that is patient care related or bachelor's degree (any major) OR Completion of an Accredited Sonographer Program.
Experience:
- 2 years of experience in transthoracic echocardiology
Licensure/ Certification:
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) in 2 patient populations (Adult, Pediatric, Fetal) or advanced competencies (example, TAVR, ECMO and LVAD)
Other Skills/ Knowledge:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of the patient population served.
- Knowledge of echocardiology techniques and skills to independently perform transthoracic, transesophageal echocardiology, intra-op echocardiology (TAVRs, TEVARs, cardiovascular surgery/catheterization), and advanced heart failure/transplant (LVAD, impella, heart transplant) echocardiograms or independently performs test in two patient population.
