As a Kitter in the Machine Shop, you will be a crucial part of our manufacturing process, responsible for preparing and delivering materials according to lot cards, drawings, and work orders. Your main responsibilities will include kitting material for the machine shop jobs. This will be done by accurately identifying needed material type on the jobs and issuing the material in the ERP system. The material may be rings that are pre-sized or bar stock that will require cutting to size. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory of material within your control and the organization of the materials. Other tasks that may fall under your job description will be helping manage the tools that are stocked in the area.

Key Job Responsibilities
- Determine the required thickness of material using established formulas and procedures.
- Cut materials to size using band saws.
- Inventory management and stocking.
- Accurately recording transactions for material and time on lot cards or job traveller and in the ERP system.
- Identify and provide the required material to machinist as per their needs.
- Receiving in materials and tooling storing them in a manner that will prevent damage or lost of value.
- Effective communication skills exhibiting OE Values and Behaviours.
- Working knowledge of OE Company Handbook, QE procedures and Safety Policies.
- Experience in pulling orders for shipment.
- Ability to read and comprehend work orders and perform transactions in a barcode/scanner computer system.
- Demonstrated accuracy in picking and selecting required materials.
- Ability to efficiently complete work to achieve or exceed performance targets for quality and cost.
- Proficient in performing accurate physical counts of material quantities to resolve discrepancies.
- Basic computer skills to navigate business systems.
- Experience using business systems such as SAP, Epicor, Oracle, or D365.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize workflow effectively.
- Attention to details in data entry to the ERP system for inventory transactions and clocking into jobs to accurately record time on the job.
- Good organization skills for managing stocked material to prevent loss or damage.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift and safety move materials with lifting devices.
- Ability to measure with a tape measure, linear callipers and other inspection tools as required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
