Job Description: The School District of Osceola is seeking a highly organized, collaborative, and creative professional to serve as our Executive Assistant/Communication Coordinator. This position works closely with the Board of Education and Superintendent. The ideal candidate takes initiative, values relationships, pays close attention to detail, and can comfortably move between confidential administrative work, Board responsibilities, and district communications.
Requirements or Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with staff, families, Board members, and community members
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and follow projects through to completion
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- General knowledge of school district operations or willingness to learn
- Strong technology skills and ability to learn new platforms, systems, and processes
- Ability to take initiative, anticipate needs, identify solutions, and work independently
- Desire to learn, grow, and continuously improve
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Board of Education and District Office.
- Attend all Board meetings and provide meeting support, including Boardroom setup, displaying presentation materials, coordinating virtual participation, and recording minutes
- Coordinate elections, referendum materials, District policies, and required notices
- Coordinate state and federal reporting, including pupil counts
- Manage the District's open enrollment
- Coordinate staff District-wide events
- Lead District communications, including social media, newsletters, website content, branding, and critical communications
- Attend and support District and community events as needed
- Support District projects and initiatives as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
