- Performs technical budget analysis work, moderately complex financial management and accounting work according to generally accepted standard accounting principles, established procedures, departmental guidelines, and regulatory requirements applicable to the work.
- Assists in the preparation and analyzation of various financial documentation regarding funds and budgets; assists in the reconciling of internal reports and analyzes discrepancy against general ledger/job ledger accounts; assists in the performance of a wide variety of account and budget management tasks.
- Acts as a backup to the Senior Payroll Technician; receives, reviews, verifies, adjusts, and transmits payroll data.
- Prepares programmatic and financial grant reports to establish and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Provides oversight, guidance, and recommendations to management to ensure grant/contract compliance.
- Assists in the monitoring of various revenues and expenditures for departmental and/or unit accounts; ensures expenditure control and compliance with funding and reporting requirements, policy, and standard accounting procedures; assists with monitoring and reviewing financial and account records; reviews transaction activities to ensure accuracy.
- Analyzes, reconciles, balances, and maintains accounting records; develops budgets and special financial reports.
- Performs accounts payable/receivable processing, recording, and reconciliation tasks, e.g. purchase requests, billings, vendor payments, fee collections, cash receipts, revenues, expenditures, activity costs.
- Generates various system reports or audit calculations and ensures accuracy, e.g., budget processing, accounts processing, expenditures.
- Provides assistance in relation to departmental financial operations, policies, and programs.
- Maintains confidentiality of information in the performance of job duties.
- Performs duties as assigned/necessary which are related, or logical in assignment to the position.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Considerable knowledge of generally accepted standard accounting principles, established procedures, departmental guidelines, and regulatory requirements applicable to the work.
- Knowledge of the application of statistical concepts and methods as applied to the analyses of budget management, accounting and revenue projecting.
- Current knowledge of industry, regulatory and legislative developments affecting budgeting, accounting and financial reporting functions to ensure application to areas of responsibility.
- Thorough knowledge of basic bookkeeping and general accounting principles and techniques.
- Skill in performing moderately complex mathematical computations and tabulations accurately and efficiently; intermediate level business mathematics, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages and decimals.
- Ability to utilize personal computers, standard office equipment.
- Proficient use of standard software applications, e.g. word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to communicate professionally, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to organize work, prioritize, meet established deadlines, and follow up on assignments with minimum direction.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral or schedule form.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communications with co-workers, department management, businesses and other fiscal organizations.
- Ability to learn and understand electronic payroll processing systems.
- Ability to learn and understand shift assignments, shift schedules, work back day schedules, and electronic roster system, including on-call, callback, and standby procedures.
