Principal Objective of Position:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairs, adjustments, and ongoing maintenance of facilities. Evaluates requests for repairs. Troubleshoots and conducts periodic inspections to determine maintenance work required. Maintains all equipment necessary to perform work.

- Maintain all equipment and facilities necessary to perform work
- Fill out and maintain maintenance records, as required
- Adhere to all safety procedures
- Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather
- Must be able to work flexible hours or shifts, including evenings and weekends when required with little or no supervision
- Work with a wide variety of equipment
- Perform electrical, painting, and/or carpentry repairs of fixtures and equipment on company premises
- Establish and maintain PMs on all equipment
- Record written PM standards per our document control process
- Train Operators as needed to PM requirements
- Responsible for operating forklift and overhead crane to load and unload material onto trucks
- Processes work orders from bills of lading
- Responsible for packaging cut products
- Ensures correct products are being loaded and unloaded by matching order numbers to printed tags
- Performs preoperational safety checks on forklift and overhead crane
- Follow safe job procedures including inspecting forklift, equipment and tools before operating
- Move materials to and from storage or production areas using a forklift
- Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or materials moving needs
- Complete necessary paperwork when needed
- Record information on a computer screen
This position has some on-call and call-in requirements. Additionally, overtime will be contractually offered based on the seniority for the position the employee is being asked to work the overtime hours for (i.e., if the overtime work is as a Maintenance Assistant, the employee will be asked to work overtime based on the Maintenance seniority list, and can only work as a Maintenance Assistant for the overtime hours).
Other Responsibilities:
- Acts as liaison with outside contractors
- Assist in good housekeeping practices-keep work area and walkway clean and free of debris
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Must be a competent welder and torch operator
- Must be familiar with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components
- Able to disassemble, evaluate, repair and reassemble components back to manufacturer’s specifications
- Must have basic computer, email, and printer skills
- Basic Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Must be able to use tape measure, micrometer, caliper, and calculator
- Spray paint use
- Tablet use
- Use company software to process work orders
- Can work independently and in a team environment
- Self-motivated and takes responsibility for own work; can manage interruptions
- Must perform all duties while meeting safety protocols
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent, preferred
- 1-2 years’ experience in operating a forklift, preferred

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
The Maintenance Technician position is located primarily in a warehouse environment with some outside work necessary. Once trained this person works independently but takes instruction from coworkers and supervisors. The person in this position must be constantly aware of surroundings and look out for other individuals in the area while operating equipment.
