A leading global financial services firm is seeking an Experienced Data Solution Architect to join its Data Architecture & Modeling team in New York, NY. This role sits at the center of enterprise data strategy and offers high visibility across senior leadership, bankers, and cross-functional technical teams.
Details:
- 6-month contract (Extension Highly Likely)
- Compensation: $80 - $100 p/hour
- NYC, NY | Hybrid | 3 Days On-Site
Responsibilities:
- Partner with senior stakeholders to capture workflows, define data domains, and map business requirements.
- Design logical and semantic data models that align with enterprise data architecture.
- Define key attributes, hierarchies, and rules for core datasets (funds, sponsors, coverage, deals, etc.).
- Explore, validate, and shape raw data using SQL, Python, and Databricks.
- Collaborate with data engineers on ingestion, transformations, and enrichment.
- Prototype transformations and pipelines before handing off to engineering for production builds.
- Present models, gather feedback, and iterate to ensure accuracy and alignment.
- Serve as a bridge between business partners and technical teams.
Mandatory Requirements:
- 6 years of experience in data architecture, solution design, or hybrid business/data roles.
- 5 years of experience in SQL, Python, PySpark
- 3 years of experience with Databricks
- Understands data modeling, semantics, ontologies, and MDM best practices.
- Knows how to translate complex data concepts into actionable design for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable balancing strategic design with hands-on prototyping.
