We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Roadway Engineer to focus on complex roadway design. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional who prefers to focus on design excellence and technical staff mentorship rather than project management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical roadway design for transportation projects, including ODOT, and county/municipal agencies
- Develop and review roadway plans, including roadway alignments, profiles, cross sections, traffic control and maintenance of traffic design
- Perform detailed plan reviews for quality, standards compliance and constructability
- Support internal QA/QC processes and design best practices
- Mentor junior technical staff and provide design guidance, including checking and review
- Maintain proficiency in current roadway design standards and software
- Review and stamp bridge plans as Engineer of Record when required
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 20 years of roadway design experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Extensive experience with ODOT and local agency design standards
- Strong working knowledge of plan set development and expertise with roadway design software (Civil 3D, Open Roads, or similar)
