Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 per year annual performance-based bonus

Summary
The Product Sales Consultant will partner with financial professionals to provide value-added sales and marketing strategies aimed at building and maintaining their overall sales. This position will be responsible for achieving specific sales goals in commission-based products such as mutual funds, ETFs, annuities, life insurance, and alternative investments.
The position requires strong consultative sales skills and an ability to assist financial professionals with sales ideas, prospecting techniques, overcoming sales objections, plan design options, product positioning, and determining the best approach to closing sales opportunities, including developing strategies for point-of-sale meetings. In addition to the focus on products, the Product Sales Consultant will also assist other Product Sales Consultants (Generalists) in providing first-level sales support, promotion, and recommendation to our financial professionals of other product lines, our advanced sales and financial planning resources, our advisory services platform, and our partner firms.
Responsibilities
Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma (or equivalent) in combination with significant practical experience will be considered in lieu of degree. Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities
- Provide timely industry, market, and product trends to internal business partners
- Identify and target sales opportunities within the firm’s existing network of financial professionals
- Maintain high queue service levels
- Proactively work on Partner calling campaigns.
- Development and execution of structured proactive outbound sales campaigns
- Assist financial professionals with strategic sales ideas and competitive product positioning
- Deliver outbound calls to affiliated financial professionals to drive attendance at company events
- Daily interaction with product carriers and distribution outlets (IMO’s)
- Participate in all scheduled training and educational workshops, events, webinars, study groups, etc.
- Interface with Partner Firms and ensure adequate access has been provided
- Provide financial professionals with guidance as to best-in-class solutions and resources from our Partner Firms
- Expand the firm’s presence in the industry by advocating for the resources, tools, services, and support we provide our financial professionals
- Accept calls from financial professionals pertaining to general sales-related issues, such as:
- Detailed product information
- Guidance on product selection
- Case design assistance
- Education on technology/research tools
- Resolving escalated issues
- Offer plan design options and overall general support
- Generate and review proposals, when required
- Identify opportunities for service/support enhancements
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned

- Minimum of four years’ experience in the securities industry, with at least two years of experience in mutual fund, annuity, alternative investments, and life insurance product sales.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting in front of groups
- Demonstrated ability to build professional relationships
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with multiple computer software programs, including proprietary and licensed program packages
- Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, achieve goals, set and meet deadlines
- An ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to communicate new ideas and concepts to colleagues at various levels of the organization
- Ability to establish and maintain high standards and measures while working with deadlines
- A working knowledge of most securities and insurance product categories, including:
- Mutual Funds
- Variable Annuities
- Alternative Investments
- Life Insurance
- Fixed and Equity Indexed Annuities
- FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses desired
