Duties
- Measure and prepare surfaces accurately using hand tools and power tools to ensure proper flooring installation.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and floor plans to execute installations precisely according to specifications.
- Install various flooring types, including tile laying, hardwood, laminate, vinyl planks, and floor care treatments.
- Perform caulking, trim carpentry, fixture installation, and cabinet installation as needed to complete the finished look of each project.
- Conduct restoration work such as water damage restoration or renovation projects to restore floors to their original condition or better.
- Use construction estimating skills to assess project scope, materials needed, and timeframes for efficient job planning.
- Maintain safety standards on-site by handling hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment responsibly while adhering to OSHA guidelines.
Experience
- Proven experience in flooring installation with a strong background in tile laying, carpentry, and remodeling projects.
- Construction site experience with knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics for accurate project execution.
- Familiarity with the restoration industry or water damage restoration processes is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with construction estimating, concrete finishing, construction painting, buffing, and floor care techniques.
- Skilled in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during installation and finishing tasks.
- Knowledge of fixture installation, cabinetry work, handyman tasks, and water damage restoration enhances versatility on the job site.
