Overview

JOB PURPOSE:

Under general direction of the HR Manager, participates and assists in the analysis and assessment of individual, departmental, and/or casino training needs; The corporate trainer will be responsible for developing and delivering training programs to employees across all levels of the organization. Collaborating with organizational executives to ensure training aligns with overall business goals. Identify training needs and design effective programs that enhance employee skills and knowledge.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Bachelor's degree in Learning & Education Studies, Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field required.
  • Three Years’ experience working in a training environment required. Experience in corporate gaming training department experience preferred.
  • Required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and obtain and maintain an Osage Nation gaming license.
  • Required to maintain a valid Driver’s License.
  • Required to provide documents to show the applicant is eligible to work in the United States.
  • Osage, Native American, and Veteran preference shall apply to all positions at Osage Casinos.

Responsibilities

GUEST SERVICE:

  • Provides excellent internal and external guest services, always treating internal employee and external guests with courtesy and consideration.
  • Cooperates and communicates with all fellow employees, always exhibiting mutual respect and consistently projecting a positive, helpful image/attitude.
  • Responsible to greet each customer and promote outstanding guest relations.

COMMUNICATION:

  • Makes efforts to keep informed of company information and communications by reviewing property bulletin boards, digital signage, and company newsletter.
  • Conducts at least bi-weekly One-on-One meetings with direct reports, soliciting input from employees.
  • On an individual basis or in a group format, explains why, shares information, and communicates the purpose of decisions to applicable staff.
  • Ensures company information provided by management is effectively communicated to different departmental staff.

DEPARTMENT OPERATIONS:

  • Conduct needs assessments and analyzing performance data.
  • Create presentations, programs, develop training manuals and supplemental materials, visual aids, demonstrations, and design online courses.
  • Conducts new hire orientations, training classes, seminars, lectures, and team exercises.
  • Keeps accurate records of all meeting attendees and forwards them to the proper departments.
  • Coordinates training schedule with the hiring and training demands of the department.
  • Maintains training database and notifies department heads of individuals needing training in specific areas.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of training and development programs and utilizes relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods.
  • Assists in research of outside training vendors and makes recommendations on selection. Reviews instructor performance and recommend improvements to program content and/or instructor presentation methods as needed; may recruit, select, and train instructors.
  • Collaborates with the HR department on identified development opportunities.
  • Tests trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by conducting research; attending seminars, workshops, classes, and conferences; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies; and conferring with contracting agencies and related organizations.
  • Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE:

  • Monitors all relevant activities of the area of responsibility, to ensure that all applicable laws, rules, regulations and controls of the organization, and the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) and the Osage Nation Gaming Commission (ONGC) are enforced by all applicable personnel.
  • Maintains excellent working relationships with other Company staff and all applicable regulatory commissions and other agencies as may be applicable to ensure compliance.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with company core values, objectives of the Osage Nation, internal policies, and procedures, as well, as applicable laws and gaming regulations, including but not limited to, the state-tribal compact, IGRA, MICS, ONGR, the Bank Secrecy Act, Office of Foreign Asset Control, USA Patriot Act and Privacy Act.
  • Ensures assigned staff is aware of, understand and comply with regulatory requirements and enforces regulatory standards through discipline when necessary.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles, and of a wide range of training methods, techniques, and formats.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and preparation procedures.
  • Knowledge of department organization, functions, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
  • Skill in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing operational and financial reports.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access, and presentation software.
  • Skill in operating production software, simulations, and learning management systems.
  • Proven presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to interpret and assess training and development needs and to develop creative responses.
  • Ability to design, develop, implement, and evaluate training plans, curricula, and methodology.
  • Ability to establish, interact, and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict timelines.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and employees.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to create and present effective speeches and presentations.
  • Ability to analyze situations and adopt appropriate courses of action.
  • Protect the Company’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain physical condition and stamina appropriate to perform assigned duties.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit, walk, and stand for prolonged periods; use hands for dexterity of motion; stoop, bend, kneel or crouch, and have normal auditory, visual acuity, and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to lift upwards of 20 pounds.
  • Ability to drag, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work is performed within an office and casino setting.
  • Exposure to second-hand smoke.
  • Ability to work evening, weekends, graveyard, weekend, and irregular shifts may be required.
  • Noise level in the work environment is moderate to high.
  • Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common.
  • The employee may be exposed to risks associated with travel between properties and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands.
  • The employee may be exposed to the risks associated in attempting to resolve issues with extremely irate or difficult people.
