What are the responsibilities and job description for the Analytical Chemist position at Oryx Advanced Materials?
Oryx Advanced Materials is currently seeking an Analytical Chemist for Fremont, CA location.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and optimize sample digestion methods for analyzing purity of metals by using Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectroscopy (ICP) and LECO (O2, N2, C, S).
- Support production plant for process development and troubleshooting of ICP and LECO equipment, ensure quality of laboratory work performed
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, calibration of analytical equipment and general laboratory maintenance
- Update and maintain the chemical database and COAC database
- Ensure accurate documentation in compliance with ISO 9001
- Understand internal work instructions and customer specifications.
- Plan and perform chemical and gas analysis
- Support R&D on developing testing methods for new materials and alloys
- Communicate effectively with team on testing status
- Issue COAC for the product
- Keep records of supplier’s COA
- Facilitate customer visits to the analytical lab
Requirements:
- MS Chemistry preferred, 3 to 5 years work experience. BS Chemistry will be considered.
