In addition to selling bread to many of New York's top restaurants and gourmet grocery stores, Orwashers currently operates three retail bakeries in Manhattan and Long Island. What You Will Do
As FP&A Analyst, you will join the Finance & Accounting team and report directly to the CFO/COO. You will work across both the retail and wholesale sides of the business, partnering with Sales, Operations, and Accounting to turn the numbers into decision-making tools. Your analysis will show leadership where the margin is, which accounts are profitable, and what happens when commodity prices, wages, or the customer mix change.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate pricing and margins across products, channels, and customers, and recommend changes with their impact quantified.
- Analyze ingredient, packaging, labor, and yield costs to identify variances and savings, and track whether those savings are realized.
- Build and maintain a P&L by wholesale customer, and work with Sales to restructure accounts through pricing, delivery terms, minimums, or product mix.
- Support the annual budget and rolling forecasts, and maintain financial models that run scenarios such as new or lost accounts, new locations, and commodity price swings.
- Own weekly flash reporting and support month-end close reporting, including variance commentary, KPIs, and dashboards for leadership.
- Handle some general accounting work (roughly 10–15% of the role) and support the CFO/COO on special projects and decisions.
Who You Are
You are a positive, solution-oriented team player whose curiosity and love of numbers help drive business improvements. You’re comfortable digging through messy data from accounting, POS, and inventory systems and making sense of it, and you can explain what the numbers mean to colleagues in Sales and Operations. You’re detail-oriented, work well independently, and enjoy the range that comes with a small finance team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 2 to 5 years in FP&A, financial analysis, or a similar role
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling
- Experience in retail, food and beverage, CPG, or manufacturing
- Nice to have: Experience with product or customer profitability analysis, commodity-driven cost structures, BI tools (Power BI, Tableau), and ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks, etc.)
