What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Superintendent position at Orvosh Builders?
Who We Are
Orvosh Builders is a family-owned residential construction company based in Midland, Michigan. We specialize in high-end custom homes, renovations, and additions — and we take serious pride in the quality of what we build and how we treat the people we work with. We're a tight-knit team, and we're looking for someone who fits that.
The Role
The Superintendent is the field leader on every project they're assigned to. While the Project Manager owns the project, you own the jobsite — the daily execution, the crews, the trade partners, and the standard of work that goes out the door. You're also the face of Orvosh Builders to clients and neighbors on site every day, so professionalism matters as much as skill.
You'll be on the ground, making decisions, solving problems, and holding the bar high from start to finish.
What You'll Be Doing
- Running daily field operations — directing crews and trade partners to keep work moving safely and on schedule
- Executing the project schedule and coordinating sequencing of labor, materials, deliveries, and inspections
- Catching quality issues before they become punch list items and coaching the team to Orvosh standards
- Enforcing a safe jobsite — PPE, toolbox talks, site signage, and stopping unsafe work immediately
- Receiving and verifying deliveries, managing material staging, and tracking company equipment
- Completing daily field reports in JobTread with progress updates, photos, and documentation
- Representing Orvosh professionally with clients, neighbors, and the public
What We're Looking For
- 8 years of hands-on residential construction experience
- Demonstrated field leadership — lead carpenter, foreman, or superintendent
- Strong working knowledge of residential construction methods, sequencing, and building codes
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
- Comfortable with mobile apps and digital reporting (we use JobTread)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Bonus Points For
- OSHA 30 certification
- JobTread or similar platform experience
- Custom home or high-end remodeling background
- Trade certifications (lead-safe, scaffold, fall protection) or First Aid/CPR
Why Orvosh
We're a company that shows up for its people the way we expect them to show up for us. If you're someone who takes pride in your work, leads by example, and wants to be part of a team that genuinely cares about building great things — we'd love to talk.
