Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained
- Take and develop X-ray images while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols
- Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and medical coding
- Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments
- Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow
- Operate advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning
- Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to communicate effectively with team members and patients
- Ensure all clinical areas are clean, organized, and compliant with infection control standards
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent credential
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures
- Proficiency in EMR systems like Dentrix or Dentrix Ascend
- Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization protocols
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during procedures such as X-ray imaging, vital signs collection, and medical imaging
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with dentists, hygienists, patients, and administrative staff
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with professionalism and attention to detail
- Team player able to prioritize and multitask.
