OrthoVirginia, Virginia's largest provider of expert orthopedic and therapy care, is currently seeking a full-time, experienced Registered Nurse to join our Interventional Pain Management team! The Team:
Interventional Pain Management at OrthoVirginia focuses on providing advanced, minimally invasive pain relief procedures to help patients manage chronic pain and improve their quality of life. Our patient-centered approach ensures personalized care tailored to each individual's unique needs, potentially delaying or preventing the need for surgery. Our team is dedicated to fast-tracking patients to recovery by treating all types of pain with a comprehensive range of interventional procedures. Our pain doctors are committed to delivering specialized medical care and treatment plans focused on the needs of the patient. Our goal is to help our patients return to their daily activities quickly and safely.
The Role:
As a Registered Nurse in the Pain Management Suite at OrthoVirginia, you will play a vital role in providing advanced, non-surgical pain relief options to help patients manage chronic pain and improve their quality of life. You will work closely with a team of dedicated pain management specialists to deliver personalized care tailored to each patient's unique needs.
Essential Duties:
- Patient Check-In and Preparation: Review medical records, check vital signs, and administer intravenous (IV) fluids or medications as needed.
- During Procedures: Monitor patients' vital signs, administer sedation, and ensure patient safety. Assist with spinal injections and other interventional pain management procedures.
- Post-Procedure Care: Observe and monitor patients as they recover from sedation, ensuring stable vital signs and providing necessary care and support.
- Critical Thinking and Communication: Quickly identify and address any complications or issues during procedures and communicate effectively with the medical team to ensure patient safety.
- Patient Education: Educate patients about their procedures and post-procedure care, providing instructions on managing pain and any follow-up care needed.
Qualifications:
Completion of BSN or ADN program; Registered Nursing License
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
At least 2 years of relative experience required
Proficiency in monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms.
Previous experience in administering and monitoring moderate sedation.
