General Statement of Duties:
The Purchasing Coordinator utilizes the MMIS Meditech orders and tracks inventory of lab and surgical supplies with par levels, receives all deliveries, distributes and stocks throughout facility for hospital and clinic. The position follows up on mis picks/short ships, damaged products, back orders and communicates with our vendor reps to ensure product replacement in a timely manner and conducts expiration checks monthly. The Coordinator assists with product research, pricing, and availability to standardize between locations and communicates with the Materials Management team regarding back orders and researches acceptable substitutions.
Essential Duties:
- Utilizes the MMIS Meditech orders and tracks inventory of lab and surgical supplies with par levels. Receives all deliveries, distributes and stocks throughout facility for hospital and clinic. Follows up on mis picks/short ships, damaged products, back orders, etc. and communicates with our vendor representatives to ensure product replacement in a timely manner. Communicates with our Materials Management team regarding back orders and researches acceptable substitutions with clinical or Physician approval.
- Responsible for the daily processing of invoices, purchase order reconciliations, and accruals with Accounts Payable.
- Conducts expiration checks monthly and cleans bins in sterile supply core.
- Processes purchase orders for multiple offsite clinic locations. Assists with vendor scheduled pickups of bio waste, O2 tanks, internal courier, and mail from other locations.
- Responsible for authorized vendor representative check in and out utilizing VCS software.
- Conducts monthly radio verification and response for District 5 emergency radio for Central Indiana.
- Participates on Performance Improvement and Quality Assurance committees.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Specialty Training Beyond High School required; Associate's degree preferred
- 4-6 years of purchase ordering experience required; 6-8 years related experience preferred
- BLS certification required within first 30-days of employment
