GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Hospital Admissions Clerk II functions in a fast-paced role that requires attention to detail and
ability to multi-task, including a focus on both the quantity and quality of work. This position performs
check-in, check-out, scheduling, operates in multiple systems, answers phones, collects co-pays, and
coordinates benefits with insurance.
Essential Duties:
- Pre-registers and registers all physical and occupational therapy patients in Meditech and
TheraOffice by utilizing our clinic and ordering systems to input patient demographics as well as therapy orders. - Schedules and re-schedules all therapy appointments in TheraOffice as needed.
- Obtains, submits, and tracks authorizations for various insurances by faxing authorization requests, following up by phone, or using online tools.
- Answers all incoming calls and returns voicemails in a timely manner.
- Obtains all insurance benefit information in a timely manner for follow-up appointments as well as initial therapy evaluations by calling insurance companies, faxing benefit information sheets, or utilizing online tools.
- Collects and applies all patient payments and co-payments.
- Completes monthly registrations in Meditech for all patients to ensure account and scheduling
accuracy as well as billing accuracy. - Completes patient discharges on a weekly basis by researching therapy progress notes and discharge summaries to accurately update the discharged accounts.
- Prints and faxes progress notes for all workers comp and outside doctor referrals on a daily basis.

Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED required
- 1-2 years of patient registration experience required; 2-4 years preferred
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and high level of accuracy and attention to detail a must
