Surgery Center Student Surgical Technologist - Full Time

Orthopaedic Associates is seeking a Student Surgical Tech to join our team working in a high volume, orthopaedic only, surgery center. The ideal candidate will be a current student in good standing enrolled in a state approved Surgical Technologist program and eligable for certification exam within 6 months of hire. Orthopaedic skills are also a plus but not required. This is an outpatient-only facility, with hours worked Monday - Friday. This is a full-time position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, the Student Surgical Tech must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily under the supervision of the CST. • Assist the surgical team by maintaining a sterile operating room
• Set up the operating room for surgical procedures
• Monitor and control the environment, adhering to Universal Precautions
• Prepare patients for surgery, including washing, shaving, and disinfecting incision sites, transporting patients, positioning patients on the table, and covering patients with sterile surgical drapes
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon by passing appropriate instruments, providing sterile items, holding retractors, and cutting
• Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with company policies and procedures

• Knowledge of surgical instruments and operating procedures
• Strong attention to detail
• Must be able to perform in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to multitask
• Excellent communication skills
