What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pre-Op / PACU (Recovery) RN position at Orthopedic Health of Kansas City Surgery Center?
We are seeking a Pre-Op / PACU (Recovery) RN to join our high energy, compassionate, Orthopedic Surgery focused team! You will be responsible for providing the high quality compassionate care of our patients in support of a mission and vision that exceeds ordinary.
Responsibilities:
- Providing for the Pre-Operative assessment, education, comfort and care of our patients and their families.
- Receiving and caring for the post anesthesia / post surgical patient in a fast-paced outpatient surgery center environment.
- Monitor, report and execute an individual care plan using independent nursing skills and experience.
- Communicate with collaborative teammates, physicians and specialists regarding patient care and discharge.
- Accurately document in an electronic medical record (EMR) to ensure continuity of patient care.
- Engage and participate in many different roles and responsibilities within the ASC environment.
- Work well in a team oriented, fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in Pre / Post-Op surgery nursing
- Current Kansas license in good standing
- ACLS, BLS, PALS Required
- Previous outpatient surgery experience preferred
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
